Meet the Therapist
Arianna Biasini
Registered Provisional Psychologist in Edmonton, AB
My work is guided by a belief that everyone is capable of growth and healing. I bring warmth, openness, and humour to therapy. I offer clients of all backgrounds a welcoming and non-judgmental space to cultivate deeper insight, self-compassion, and effective skills to confront the problems holding them back from living their lives fully and being the best version of themselves.
I believe there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach to mental health. I collaborate with clients to identify treatment goals and develop an effective plan of action tailored to their unique needs and strengths.
Alba is the Italian word for sunrise, a time of renewal, inspiration, and quiet reflection. I chose this name for my practice because sunrise symbolizes so much of what therapy can offer – hope during times of uncertainty, a sense of grounding when life feels overwhelming, and a space to reflect and grow through change. No matter how difficult today feels, tomorrow always holds the promise of change.
I am an avid horror movie fan who loves travel, spending time outdoors, board games and movie nights with friends, and juggling different creative hobbies, including photography and crochet. Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and their two pups, working on creative projects, and exploring rainforest trails with my partner on Vancouver Island.

Philosophy & Approach
-
Many of the people who come to see me feel like they have to seem completely put together in their daily lives and hide any sign of their inner challenges. I invite you to show up as your whole self, no matter how messy, imperfect, or complicated. You’ll find that it’s pretty hard to faze me. I also have quite the knack for honouring your pain while also managing to find even the tiniest glimmers of your strength, resourcefulness, and resilience in the stories you share with me.
-
I will meet you wherever you are in your journey and support you in working towards your goals at your pace. Throughout our work together, I will highlight and celebrate your wins, no matter how small. If I notice things that seem to be hindering your progress, like unhelpful behaviours or thinking patterns, I will gently bring them to your attention so we can explore them with curiosity.
-
The ultimate goal of ethical therapists is to work ourselves out of a job. As much as I love supporting my clients’ growth and healing, I want nothing more than to see each one get to a point in their journey where they feel like they don’t need to rely on therapy as much anymore. If a client fires me altogether because they’ve achieved their goals, I consider that a huge win!
-
You know yourself better than anyone, including your therapist. I am always interested in learning more about how you make sense of your issues, and I will often ask you what you’re currently thinking or feeling. I also strive to be as transparent as possible about my professional experience, training, and scope of competence. I want both current and prospective clients to be able to make an informed choice about how I can best support them in addressing their concerns, whether that is through working together or connecting them with more suitable supports and resources.
-
I believe that you don’t have to fit neatly into a diagnostic box to get support for symptoms that are holding you back from living a rich and meaningful life. I also promise not to “analyze” you – whenever I share my observations or insights, I treat them like a “rough draft” and ask for your thoughts and feedback about whether it fits with your perspective and understanding.
-
I encourage you to ask me questions at any point in our work together. I will be honest if I don’t know the answer, but I will take the time to seek it out and follow up with you about it. Therapists are only human, meaning that we might make mistakes or missteps. If I mess something up, I want you to tell me! That way, I can do my best to repair and make things right so we can keep moving forward in our work together.
